Fifth grade is taking part in an exciting worldwide event on Friday September 21st, International Day of Peace. Students will be talking about peace, writing their thoughts about peace and creating a pinwheel symbolizing peace and harmony. The website for this project is pinwheelsforpeace.com. I encourage you to take a look and read more about the project and discuss it with your child. Each student will be making a pinwheel in the art room. However, additional pinwheels are welcome and appreciated if you would like to make a larger one as a family! The website gives directions and ideas for materials. Please join us on Friday September 21st at 10:15 in the atrium as our students “plant” their pinwheels along with millions more planted around the world.
