DAYS OF THE DEAD

Fourth grade students learned about a festive, Mexican holiday called Days of the Dead. This celebration takes place Oct 28-Nov 1. It is an occasion to welcome the spirits of family and friends who have passed. There are many wonderful examples of folk art that is born from this celebration. Our students explored one of these art forms, Calaveras de dulce (sugar skulls Our sugar skulls are actually made from sugar and icing…but are not to be eaten!
Great job fourth grade.
